It's Easy Being Green with Focus SIS
Kermit The Frog once said, "It's not easy bein' green." Well, we at Focus School Software have not only found it to be easy but we take pride in being green in more ways than one!
First, we will start with Focus/SIS. We offer a product that allows schools to minimize, if not eliminate all together, their use of paper. According to Recycle Now Schools (http://www.recyclenow.com/schools), every school year each secondary school student wastes 48.4 lbs of paper and each primary school student wastes 99lbs of paper. Now imagine adding on even more pounds of paper wasted by teachers, staff and administrators on letters, report cards and forms! Of course, don't forget about the stamps that must be purchased for all of those documents that need to be sent out!
Using Focus/SIS allows schools to electronically send data to parents, teacher and administrators, which avoids paper waste all together along with money saved on paper and stamps. Just think, if 20% of our national population goes to school as either a student, teacher or administrator, using Focus/SIS would help eliminate paper waste, destruction of trees and save tons of money to be used on more important things like education!
Not only do we offer a product that supports the green schools movement but employees of Focus School Software contributes to being green on a daily basis! All of our employees participate in Focus' recycling program. We turn in our recycling about every 2 weeks (with aluminum being in the lead thanks to our programmers who enjoy consuming energy drinks to help them work extra hard!). Focus employees reduce their carbon footprint daily by getting to the office via foot, bike or hybrid car. It looks like the Tour de France every morning out in front of the Kress Building!
So as you can see, Focus School Software has found a way to support being green not only in schools but as a company. We hope you can participate in being green too and show Kermit The Frog that it really is "easy bein' green"!
