The online gradebook provides teachers unparalleled flexibility, supporting all kinds of grading scales and grade weighting set-ups. At the same time, grades from the gradebook flow seamlessly in real-time to other parts of the system so administrators can run reports, generate report cards or transcripts and even view the teacher gradebook should a parent call the school. PRE-LOADED STANDARDS - Teachers simply click which objective(s) each assignment addresses. Over time the Focus/SIS gradebook applies algorithms that determine student proficiency. Standards-based report cards are generated from Focus/SIS and educators can compare student proficiency on standards against other metrics such as test scores, attendance, teachers or any of the hundreds of other data fields that reside in Focus/SIS.
- EASY-TO-USE INTERFACE - Cosmetically, the Focus/SIS gradebook looks like many other gradebooks. Students' names appear in the left column and assignments are easily entered through a wizard. Assignment categories and specific grades can be color coded (i.e., F = red and A = green).

REAL-TIME INTEGRATION WITH THE MOODLE ELEARNING SYSTEM - No student information system has a tighter integration with an elearning program than Focus/SIS has with Moodle. This integration allows teachers to post homework, administer quizzes and have discussion forums online via the free Moodle platform. Focus/SIS also integrates with other popular elearning programs to make it easier for educators to create a safe yet dynamic web environment for young learners.
- ADVANCED GRADEBOOK REPORTS - Graphical information about student performance is available for both teachers and administrators. Any and all information in the Focus gradebook can export to PDF or Excel with a single mouse click. Graphical displays are provided via bar chart, pie chart or list view. While the example below shows how students performed on all tests, other reports can be more specific (how students performed on a particular benchmark) or more general (list of all students with missing grades).

MERGE GRADEBOOKS - Some classes have multiple sections meeting at one time with one teacher (i.e., Band 1, Band 2, Band 3 and Band 4 all meet second period with Mr. Holland). Focus/SIS allows the teacher to merge the sections and have a single gradebook.

TRANSFERRED STUDENTS - Students that drop one section and then enroll in a different section of that same course have their grades from the previous section follow them to the new section. The information is valid for interschool transfers as well as from one school in the district to another. In addition, the former teacher still has access to the transferred students grades by selecting the inactive student button.

ON DEMAND PROGRESS REPORTS - Progress reports can be generated within seconds for a single student or group of students. Course and assignments grades are included as are teacher comments.
- COMMENTS AND SPELLCHECK - Teachers can add notes about a student or a particular assignment. All notes can be spellchecked by a built-in tool. Notes can also be mass assigned. For example, a teacher may wish to provide a summary of the curriculum to be printed on all student report cards.
