  • AUTOMATICALLY CALCULATES ATTENDANCE BASED ON STATE RULES - Focus/SIS references your state attendance rules to calculate ADA/ADM with no additional work on the part of the teacher or administrator.

  • CUSTOMIZABLE ATTENDANCE CODES - Schools and districts can use their own attendance codes. These can also include "code within a code" for when the school or district wants more detail than what the state requires. If all students are present, the teacher completes attendance with a single mouse click.

  • ADD ABSENCES EN MASSE FOR STUDENT GROUPS - Your women’s basketball team made the state finals and will be missing three days of class. Before they leave, mark the ladies absent for multiple days with just a couple of mouse clicks. Their teachers will be alerted when they log in to take attendance.
     
  • REAL-TIME ALERTS AGGREGATE DATA ACROSS A SCHOOL OR DISTRICT TO SHOW ADMINISTRATORS WHICH STUDENTS ARE ABSENT AT THAT MOMENT - On the main navigation screen for administrators an alert appears whenever a student is absent. Clicking on the alert shows the list of absent students, and hovering over the student name provides contact information, as shown below.

  • REAL-TIME NOTIFICATION OF TEACHERS THAT HAVE NOT TAKEN ATTENDANCE - Alerts on the administrator
    screen show which teachers have not taken attendance. For teachers that must take attendance multiple times throughout the day, all periods and the attendance status are displayed.
     
  • WORKS WITH VIRTUALLY EVERY VOICE/TEXT NOTIFICATION SYSTEM - Focus/SIS can come with a voice/text service but many schools and districts already have this technology. Integrate the notification program with Focus/SIS to automatically reach parents when their child is tardy, or call teachers in their rooms when they fail to take attendance in the first ten minutes of the class period.

  • ATTENDANCE REPORTS OFFER A WEALTH OF INFORMATION ON INDIVIDUAL STUDENTS AND GROUPS - Canned reports offer administrators different ways to access attendance data.   • ATTENDANCE DATA CAN BE VIEWED ACROSS MULTIPLE YEARS - When a student develops a problem with punctuality it is often useful to see if this is an isolated incident or a pattern. Focus/SIS provides administrators with unlimited historical information that is easily accessible via a web-based interface.

  • ALERTS PARENTS OF ATTENDANCE ISSUES AUTOMATICALLY VIA EMAIL, PORTAL ALERTS AND/OR LETTERS - Automate emails, letters and portal alerts to parents for both good and bad attendance issues. Customized templates are ready to be sent based on pre-determined criteria. For example, at the end of each quarter Focus/SIS will send out a perfect attendance letter for all students with zero absences. If a student misses three consecutive days of school a three-day absence letter can be sent out. These letters are written by the school or district and merge existing fields in Focus/SIS.
